“We are the Gamez Family, near Dolores Hidalgo, Guanajuato--the beautiful land where Talavera was born. You could say we... carry it in our blood. It was because of my father that this became part of the identity of my family; we very often remember our father molding the clay and painting the pieces.
“What we are most passionate about in this artisan technique is that it has been in the history of our country for centuries. It is something unique that is recognized throughout the world. And it gives us the opportunity to create pieces and characteristic designs with the touch of our family tradition.
“We follow design trends frequently and closely. These give us inspiration so that a piece is not only decorative, but an indispensable part of each space. The materials that are essential for the creation of each of our pieces are clay, which is very rich in Dolores Hidalgo, and the pigments necessary for the design.
“As a family, we are constantly undergoing training and improvement--improving our tools, renewing colors and designs, and closely monitoring our clients. Growing has been a challenge; as well as uniting as a family. Each one of us contributes ideas that are analyzed, and it results in better decisions. For this legacy, each one commits themselves and their creativity to keep it alive.
