"As I grew, I felt the need to continue painting those same colors and forms that continued to move my spirit."
The rich traditions and customs of the Andes come to life in the splendid, sensitive canvases of Miguel Chacon Ventura,... a painter who attended the Fine Arts Academy to learn how to recreate the beauty of the Andean landscape and the profound spirit of its people.
"Throughout my childhood in my homeland, the rivers, the crowded houses, and the color of the flowers all set me dreaming. I began to communicate these feelings through my drawings. As I grew, I felt the need to continue painting those same colors and forms that continued to move my spirit. So when the time came, I decided to travel to Cuzco and enroll there in the Fine Arts School.
"My painting bears witness to the customs of my land — to the beauty of the landscapes and the sweetness of the inhabitants. I am familiar with many styles and media, so I can comfortably paint with oils, watercolor, acrylics on any surface — paper, Bristol board and canvas. I have shown my work throughout Peru, and earned a distinguished mention in the First National Worker's Competition. I wish to continue painting, and I am grateful to you for showing the profound spiritual richness of Peruvian culture I try to capture in my paintings and offer to the world."
